WHAT WE DO

SocEntChi works across organizational and sector boundaries to connect people and ideas, elevate promising approaches, and encourage partnerships that address common challenges. 

 
Our goal is to build shared infrastructures and eliminate organizational isolation while enhancing social equity opportunities without duplicating existing groups.  We seek to complement existing efforts, make useful resources easier to access, and create opportunities for stakeholders to work together toward sustainable social impact.

For SocEntChi this work encompasses various activities, including co-hosting events, delivering workshops, publishing content, advancing social policy, and providing vital information on funding and social equity opportunities within community development initiatives.  SocEntChi partners with various organizations that share the vision of advancing social enterprise initiatives throughout the Chicago area and beyond. Collaborating with colleges and community partners, we support Chicago's social enterprise efforts, connecting organizations, universities, and technical experts to foster community development initiatives. 

 Social Enterprise Chicago (SocEntChi) focuses on core principles and operating beliefs centered around community empowerment, shared leadership, and sustainability.  Our foundational principles and beliefs include:
